The New XP Deus Metal Detector

UPDATE: XP has come out with more information on the Deus II. You can find all of the information in this article I wrote by clicking the image below or by going HERE:

DEUS II

XP Metal Detectors has begun their marketing campaign for what appears to be a multi frequency XP DEUS II. They have released 2 videos revealing hints as to what they are up to. However, the 2nd video, linked below, released on 10/25/21 gave away some clues or maybe they gave away then entire secret.

Either way, XP is clearly coming out with something new which will be welcomed by many in the XP camp. But do they deliver on what owners of the original DEUS have been wishing for such as:

  1. All weather (waterproof) machine
  2. Multi-Frequency
  3. Bigger user interface
  4. A better/more stable target ID system (consistent)
  5. A Deus that easier to use and less complicated for beginners.
  6. The phone app that everyone has been waiting for.

What Are The Hints In The Video?

The 1st hint can be found at the 3 and 4 second mark in the video (linked above). You can clearly make out the “MF” stamped on the search coil.

One can speculate what the letters MF stand for but its a pretty good bet that it stands for multi frequency (MF). MF seems to be the latest trend happening in the metal detecting world. Garrett Metal Detector came out with the APEX which is also a MF metal detecting. But Minelab has been using multi-frequency in their line of detectors for quite some time to include the CTX 3030, Vanquish, and Equinox. Minelab is clearly the competition to beat in this line of metal detectors.

The 2nd hint can be found at the 12 second mark in the video. This portion of the video shows a guy opening a box that clearly has the words, “DEUS II” with “MF” on it.

No mention or any clear signs of any waterproof hints on the box or in the video. If this machine is not going to be waterproof that will be a big let down for many in the XP camp. However, if this new DEUS is truly multi-frequency it will be exactly what DEUS owners have been asking for.

Based on the size of the box, I would also expect the DEUS II to continue being one of the lightest metal detector on the market but we won’t know for sure until the specs are released.

As an XP DEUS owner I really hope they answer what their clients have been asking for. The XP DEUS has been around a long time and XP has done a great job of keeping the DEUS relevant for many years. Its still one of the best relic machines you can purchase. Its also still one of he lightest and advanced machines on the market. Good luck XP you have my attention. Looking forward to the big reveal.

Note: This article was written purely based on speculation and nothing written has been verified by XP or any other dealer. The hints are based on observations seen in the video link above and nothing else.

Mental Metal

Here is a little about me. I started this hobby back in the early 90's. My first detector was a Whites 5900 DI. I found enough clad the first summer (around $400) to pay it off. Then I stopped detecting... Fortunately, I didn't give it up for good. Here I am 20+ years later and I've rediscovered the joy of metal detecting.
