XP DEUS II and The Facts

DEUS II

XP Metal Detectors announced November 2nd 2021 their latest update to their popular metal detector the XP DEUS. They are calling it the DEUS II and it comes packed with a bunch of new features and enhancements. Did XP deliver what Deus owners have been asking for? In this article we will go over what we know so far about the XP DEUS II metal detector.

The DEUS II is Waterproof

A feature that previous owners of the Deus have been begging for will finally get their wish. The new Deus II comes fully waterproof and submersible down to 20 meters or 66 feet. That is a significant difference than most water machines on the market today. Most waterproof metal detectors can only be submersed down to about 10-12 feet.

The DEUS II is a “Multi-Frequency” Metal Detector.

Another feature Deus owners were asking for was multi-frequency. The Deus II answers the call. The Deus II is a multi-frequency metal detector that can operate from 4 kHz to 45 kHz. More specifically here is a break down of the operating frequencies:

4 kHz, 7 kHz, 15 kHz, 21 kHz, 28 kHz, 35 kHz, and 45 kHz

What is unknown is how they incorporate the multi-frequency to the search profiles. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

The Deus II Comes With 12 Factory Search Profiles.

The 12 Search Profile are Listed Below:

  • GENERAL
  • SENSITIVE
  • SENSI FT
  • FAST
  • PARK
  • DEEP HC
  • DEUS MONO
  • GOLD FIELD
  • RELIC
  • DIVING
  • BEACH
  • BEACH SENS

12 Additional Slots For Customizable Programs.

The Deus II also comes with 12 slots for customizable programs. Much like the original Deus you will have the opportunity to customize any program and save it off just like you did before with the original Deus which made the Deus special and different than any of the other metal detectors on the market.

For Divers “Bone Conduction” Headphones

This is something completely new that enables users to dive with the Deus II down to about 66 feet! The headphones don’t actually get placed in the ear canal. Instead they rest on the outside ear. This seems to be a very innovative feature that doesn’t exist in the market today. It will be interesting to hear how divers like “Bone Conduction”.

A New Rugged and Waterproof Remote Control

The new remote control design looks rugged and built tough. It really has to be in order to be submersed down to about 66 feet underwater. The remote control is IP68 certified for submersion up to 20M or 66 feet. The buttons look better and bigger than the previous Deus. The remote appears to surrounded by a rugged shell and/or protective case that XP is claiming to be Shockproof.

New Rich Audio Options

The new Deus II has new audio features that the original Deus didn’t. The Rich Audio feature enhances the sound of the machine and makes it more appealing and easier to hear. This will be a welcomed addition for Deus owners. A lot of the complaints of the previous Deus was the lack of audio sound. The Rich Audio feature should address that issue.

New WS6 Headphones

The new WS6 headphones do not require the remote control to operate. They are ergonomic and lightweight much like the previous WS4 headphones. However, the WS6 can be unclipped and mounted to the stem. They do mention 2 additional types of headphones called the WSA II and WSA II-XL but they are not available yet.

Are The WS4 and WS5 Headphones Compatible to The Deus II?

According to XP’s website the WS4 and WS5 headphones are not compatible.

Is The Deus II Compatible With The MI-6 Pin-pointer?

It does appear that the MI-6 Pin-pointer is compatible with the Deus II.

What is The Deus II Warranty?

5 years.

Operating Time?

The wireless remote will last up to 30 hours but that time will vary depending on the type of audio in use.

What Are The Coil Options for The Deus II?

Currently XP is offering 2 packages that offer a 9″ FMF Coil or 11″ FMF Coil.

What are the Package Options for The Deus II?

The Deus II is being offered in 2 packages

  • Package 1 = DEUS2-22FMFRCWS6 which includes the telescopic stem, 9″ FMF coil, Remote Control, and WS6 Headphones
  • Package 2 = DEUS2-28FMFRCWS6 which includes the telescopic stem, 11″ FMF coil, Remote Control, and WS6 Headphones

How Much Will The Deus II Cost

I expect pricing to vary a bit but my prediction would be somewhere around $1599. If I find out more precise pricing I will up date this article.

Will The XP DEUS II Deliver?

From everything I see released from XP this new DEUS II will be something to pay attention to. Of course media hype is one thing, we won’t truly know how well this new FMF technology will work until it is put to the test. As a an original Deus owner, I am really glad XP listened to their customers even if has taken over 3 years. I already have my order in from Fort Bedford Metal Detectors and they are taking pre-orders now!

Mental Metal

Here is a little about me. I started this hobby back in the early 90's. My first detector was a Whites 5900 DI. I found enough clad the first summer (around $400) to pay it off. Then I stopped detecting... Fortunately, I didn't give it up for good. Here I am 20+ years later and I've rediscovered the joy of metal detecting.
