Top 5 Best Metal Detecting Videos of 2019

I did a lot of metal detecting in 2019 and I made several metal detecting videos. In fact, 2019 was probably one of my best metal detecting years EVER so I decided to take all of the videos I recorded in 2019 and rank the top 5 and share those with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them. Lets start with #5 and work our way up to #1.

5. Metal Detecting Deep! Deep! Deep! Targets in Gettysburg Early in (2019)

My passion is hunting for civil war relics. Most of the time, I can only hunt for them at Digging in Virginia events that only take place 2 times a year. I was fortunate to get the chance to hunt for civil war relics near Gettysburg in early 2019. If you know anything about Gettysburg, getting permission to hunt anywhere near the battlefield is a miracle. I was very happy that I was able to save a few relics from the Battle of Gettysburg in this video using a Minelab GPX 4500 Metal Detector.

4. Metal Detecting (2019): A Treasure Hunters Dream Site Bonanza

Back in January, our friend Ari put us on a permission that was loaded with coins and relics. Some amazing treasure has come off of this permission during the year and still does today. This site was super fun and super productive especially when the civil war button came out of nowhere. The metal detector I was using in this video was the XP Deus from XP Metal Detectors.

3. Metal Detecting (2019): Pounded and Hunted Out! Maybe Not

This video didn’t get very many views in 2019 but it was one of my most memorable. I fortunate enough to witness an hold an eagle breast plate that came out of the ground. Plus, I found a very rare Confederate civil war shotgun bullet. But probably my most vivid memory from this video is the fact that I hunted for hours underneath electrical power lines with a pulse induction machine and to this day, I still feel like damaged goods. The metal detector I was using in this video was the Minelab GPX 4500 Metal Detector.

2. I found a Tombstone Growing From a Tree and a Lot of OLD Coins!

There is something about an old cemetery that lure’s me in but this was over the top. Early in the year, I was given permission to metal detect at an old church. I told Pastor Eric that I would gladly donate all of the relics and coins to the church for their archives and for others to see. However, there was one section of the church property that gave me weird vibes. I didn’t expect to find what I did but after looking a patch of grass and where a tree was growing, I noticed a tomb stone coming out of a tree stump! and it was old. Needless to say, I stopped detecting that area. There were some nice coins discovered in this video. The metal detector I was using was the XP Deus from XP Metal Detectors.

1. Finding SILVER Coins Everywhere! INSANE! Metal Detecting in (2019)

I stumbled into this permission by accident. Where I thought could have been civil war activity turned into a community pool that was very active prior to the 1960’s. Lets just say, it was a VIRGIN site. I’ve pulled over 50 silver coins from this permission so far. I’ve only been back 4 times but each time I find a hand full of silvers and plenty of pennies. This site has truly been my biggest honey hole EVER which makes it my #1 pick for 2019. The metal detector I was using in this video was the XP Deus from XP Metal Detectors.

Check out my finds log.

I’ve been keeping a log of everything I’ve found so far in 2019 called “2019 Finds Log“. This is something I’ve never done before but I am so happy that I did. Give it a look. It will be very difficult for me to beat my best year ever metal detecting but we are going to try in 2020.

Thank for checking out my Top 5 Best Metal Detecting Videos of 2019.

Mental Metal

Here is a little about me. I started this hobby back in the early 90's. My first detector was a Whites 5900 DI. I found enough clad the first summer (around $400) to pay it off. Then I stopped detecting... Fortunately, I didn't give it up for good. Here I am 20+ years later and I've rediscovered the joy of metal detecting.
