After Market Search Coils For The Minelab Equinox.

Post Updated 08/07/21

There are 3 new after market search coils out for the Minelab Equinox.

Until recently the only search coils you could purchase for the Minelab Equinox were the 6″ DD and 15″ DD search coils and they were exclusively from Minelab.

However, as of February 2021, a company based out of Australia called Coiltek has announced 3 new search coils for the Equinox. Based off of Coiltek’s website, these new coils have been officially approved by Minelab.

What Are The Sizes of The New Coiltek Search Coils?

Coiltek’s new search coils for the Equinox come in 3 different sizes:

  • 10×5″ NOX
  • 14×9″ NOX
  • 15″ NOX

Below you find each coil and and the Coiltek videos that were just released. Since these coils just came out (February 1st 2021) there isn’t a lot of new information or videos about these coils just yet. I’m sure it won’t take long to determine how well these coils will actually perform on the Equinox when they start getting into the hands of enthusiastic detectorists.

When Are The New Coiltek Search Coils Available?

They are available now. However, they have been on backorder for some vendors. You may have to be put on a waiting list.

The most recent information I received from Fort Bedford Metal Detectors is that these new coils will be available starting March 3rd 2021. I’ve asked the question if pre-orders will be accepted and I’m waiting on that answer. If I can confirm anything I will post an update as soon as I know the answer.

Where Can You Purchase These New Search Coils?

Depending on where you live there are several outlets in Northern American who are registered dealers. You can find them by going to Coiltek’s website and pick the state closest to you to get a list of the dealers to contact.

Luckily here on the east coast, our dealer is Fort Bedford Metal Detectors and you can find their information below to include their phone number.

Mental Metal

Here is a little about me. I started this hobby back in the early 90's. My first detector was a Whites 5900 DI. I found enough clad the first summer (around $400) to pay it off. Then I stopped detecting... Fortunately, I didn't give it up for good. Here I am 20+ years later and I've rediscovered the joy of metal detecting.
